WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF TAKING YOUR PET ABROAD?
When taking your pet abroad it is important to be aware that there are different diseases found on the continent that are not present here and a lot of UK vets may not have seen theses diseases.
The greatest risk is from TICKS & SANDFLIES which can carry a range of blood borne diseases. The general rule is that the further south you travel, and the warmer it gets, the greater the risk of tick and sandfly transmitted diseases. It is important therefore to have a treatment plan in operation BEFORE you go so that your pet is protected from the start of your holiday.
