Services

Pet identification

We strongly recommend that you have a microchip inserted into your pet. It allows identification of your pet if it strays and becomes lost or injured. The local dog warden, other veterinary surgeries and the police have scanners and should be able to reunite you with your pet. We use Tracer microchips which include lifelong registration at the national Petlog Centre. Click here for more information on microchipping your dog or cat.

Neutering

Dogs: We normally spey bitches from about 6 months old before their first season or 3 months after a season has finished. We avoid speying close to or during a season as this increases the risks. We also avoid speying of there are any signs of false pregnancy and lactation.

We normally castrate dogs from about 6 months onwards. We strongly advise that any retained testicles are removed to prevent testicular tumours developing. Click for more information on neutering your dog.

Cats: We will spey female cats from 6 months of age. We try and avoid seasons and pregnancy where possible.

Tom cats can be castrated from 6 months of age. Click for more about neutering your cat.
