Repeat prescriptions
Some pets need to be on prolonged treatment and repeat prescriptions can be obtained from reception if ordered in advance: all such prescriptions must, by law, be authorised by a Veterinary Surgeon. We request 24 to 48 hours notice to allow us time to get them authorised and put up during quieter periods and also to order stock in as required.
“Veterinary Prescription Only Medicines” are strictly controlled in the interests of public and animal health. Our policy is to re-examine every animal every 6 months so we can monitor the progress of chronic problems and perhaps obtain an early glimpse of any new trouble developing. New drugs are being developed all the time and as long as we see your pet regularly we can change to new treatments if we think these will help more.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: ALL DRUGS DISPENSED WILL BE DISPENSED WITH INSTRUCTIONS FOR USAGE AND STORAGE. PLEASE HANDLE ALL DRUGS CAREFULLY (particularly if you know yourself to be allergic to some drugs). MAKE SURE THEY ARE STORED COMPLETELY OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.
If you have any unused medication or used insulin syringes left over we will be happy to dispose of it safely free of charge.
