Services

Worming

We recommend worming puppies every 2 weeks up until 12 weeks of age and then monthly until 6 months of age. After this we recommend that dogs should be wormed every 3 months in line with BSAVA policy to help protect not only your pet but also your family and the environment. Click here to find out more.

Kittens should also be wormed every 2 weeks up until 12 weeks of age and then at least twice a year. However, cats that are prolific hunters will need to be wormed more often as they can become infected with tapeworm from their prey. Click here to find out more.

There are many drugs available for worming. It is important to use broad spectrum products, particularly in young animals, and we are more than happy to advise you on product selection.

Worming adult cats with tablets is sometimes a bit tricky. We are happy to dose your cat for you if you have a problem. We now stock Profender which is a new broad spectrum spot-on wormer.
